The short version

Copycell does not collect any data about you or your files. There is no account to create, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. The app has no access to the internet, so nothing you open in it can leave your Mac through Copycell.

What the app stores

Copycell works on the files you choose to open. It keeps a note of which cells you have copied and marked, your settings, a short history of your recent copies and a list of recently opened files, so it can pick up where you left off. All of this is stored on your Mac only. We cannot see it.

The app only reaches files and folders you choose yourself through the standard macOS open panel, as macOS requires of sandboxed apps from the Mac App Store.

What we collect

No personal information
No usage analytics or crash reporting of our own
No advertising identifiers and no tracking across other apps or websites
No selling or sharing of data, because we hold none

If you choose to share crash reports and analytics with app developers in your Mac's settings, Apple may pass anonymous crash reports to us. That is controlled by you in System Settings, under Privacy & Security, then Analytics & Improvements.

Emailing us

If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write, and use them only to reply. We do not add you to any list.

This website

This site is a set of static pages served by Cloudflare. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads no tracking scripts, fonts or embeds from anyone else. The demo on the home page runs entirely in your browser: the cells you click are copied to your own clipboard and never sent anywhere.

Like any website, it has to be delivered by a server. Cloudflare processes the ordinary request information needed to do that and to defend the site from attack, including your IP address. We do not build profiles from it, and we do not combine it with anything else.

The download buttons take you to Apple. Once you are there, Apple's privacy policy applies rather than ours.

Children

Copycell collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If the app ever started to collect anything, we would say so here first.
